01.12.2022 | Being Alive. Inaugural Lecture Prof. Teresa Galí-Izard.
1 Dec 2022, 17:15 (CET) | ETH Zürich, Zentrum, HG F 30 and online
Prof. Galí-Izard defines landscape architects as translators of the potential of places defined primary by its geological and climatic conditions. In her inaugural lecture, she highlights an ongoing research about a new methodology for practicing Landscape Architecture, which reveals those potentials in the overlap of multiple milieux.
The research focuses primarily on how to give voice to the living beings around us, and how to incorporate time, and natural processes, as the core of our profession. The definition of a new language and design convention are the answer to create a new ground for the imagination of new mutualisms, interdependences and relationships among living systems and among us. We are listeners and learn from the fields of sciences and humanities and we welcome all forms of knowledge.
After the lecture, we will celebrate together with an apéro!
