FS26: Cartographies of Living Systems
This semester the students from the course Cartographies of Living Systems were given a set of site specific data and have translated the information into one drawing. The drawing had to incorporate 10 parameters: climate through the Gaussen Diagram, Geology, soil texture, water content, organic matter, the stages of development of the trees, tree substitutes, forest strata, roots and root decay. By drawing these elements not as isolated entities but as one complex living system, the relationships between them become visible. The students were free to draw by hand, digitally or as a hybrid.
